eh, no
Oh, wait. No, they didn't. The White House was set ablaze during the burning of Washington on August 24th, 1814 after the British victory at the Battle of Bladensburg earlier that day. Canadian militia were not present - It was General Ross that led over 4,000 British regulars into battle against 6,000 America militia. Even though the British were outnumbered, the Americans were no match for the British regulars or the military skill of General Ross. The American army retreated and the British marched into Washington with no opposition. There were no Canadian troops present in that battle, the victors were British regulars. If anyone gets to take credit for the "arse kicking", it's the British.
Canada still won
@solycow. Actually because the nation of Canada was still loyal to Brtain, many of the soldiers in Canada were Canadian and they would often have the Canadian militia wear the red coats of the British regulars as a misinformation tactic that was brought forth by General Issac Brock against the American General William Hull at Detroit. Brock even used the tactic of having the First Nation warriors circle the fort to make Hull believe that there was close to 5,000 First Nation warriors.
America actually only won two battles in the war that spanned from 1812 to 1815. Those two were I believe the battle for Baltimore and the battle for New Orleans, though those were usually large Americans forces beating back the small Canadian and British forces. The burning of the White House was also in retaliation to the Americans burning Canada's capital of York at the time and multiple razings of small Canadians villages since American soldiers pillaged, some raped, and then they burned villages and crops to keep their enemies from having supplies.
Civil war not revolution
Neko said that the Americans lost the civil war and in a sense they did every soldier that died was an American and in total over a million died back then where there was not that many people to start of with it is a lot. So in a sense they lost since everything could have been solved with peaceful negotiations but the south did not want to hear it. To sum it up Neko says the American Civil war which was amongst Americans, not the American revolution which was against the British. :3
Americans
I am an American and we do have best High Tech Gadgets for Warfare and best Army. We got Nukes, Drones and Army Soldiers well train in Combat. However we are a peaceful nation and will not start a conflict. We die and bleed for our Country because we love it and we will defended it, if need to.
