Due to a bunch of "Scene missings", I think I missed something important.

It's a narrative device! If you look at the dates between comics, I stopped updating for a while, and then got back to it with a story that kept comic-time moving while the strip wasn't updating. The strip numbering actually jumps ahead quite a bit as well, but most people didn't notice that.
