This article is making the Facebook circuit. I'm not entirely sure what the republicans are playing at with the whole 'government shutdown' thing, but from across the Atlantic it looks an awful lot like the sort of bitchy ill-tempered nonsense that should be quite some distance beneath any individual member of the world's most powerful government. Is the Republican party, as a governing entity, genuinely going to sulk and refuse to play as a negotiation tactic? That is some 16 and Pregnant shit right there.

I'm just not sure what employment law has to say about half of the government going on strike and enforcing that strike on government employees. Like so much of the human world it seems strange and retarded to Aleister.

Today, Cosmo the Quote Bunny is quoting noted Renaissance philosopher Niccolò Machiavelli.

blame I personally think its the fault of the democrats and that's really all I'm going to say about this because I don't like getting into political debates

Well, yes, but very nearly everything I say contains an element of sarcasm.

All I know is certain services and recreation areas like the lake where we always go sailing were closed for a time and I'm pretty ticked off.

...Ok that's not all I know, I could go on about this since I live in the U.S. but I won't start ranting.

Long story short, ever since entering college I'm becoming more and more convinced that I should eventually move to a different country.

@Connorses: That's what did :)

@Connorses:

Make sure your degree is something where people in a state of low elaboration can understand what you studied is complex enough that can be understood with simple words and phrases. Visual media, behavioral management, career enhancement program, and community based learning are evidently not self explanatory enough for employers. You might also want to reserve some of your loan money for certifications in things "related" to your degree as part of you post graduate studies. I made them mistake of trying to take community learning classes for review, when I should have got a Microsoft or Mac genius certifications. Since, apparently, accredited, college level, pre requisite classes that cover computer skills for eight year olds in Microsoft office and five years of conditioned technomancy are not enough to be considered computer literate anymore.

Evidently, owning a burner phone instead of a "smart" phone because you don't have money for the latter is also evidence that you are computer illiterate. One would think for an eight plus dollar an hour "part time" job paying ten cents less than a previous employer it wouldn't matter. But apparently it does.

@GabrielsThoughts Good advice!

I'm starting to think I should endure the debt and do some community college classes. Just cover some of the skills and certifications that are in demand in my area.

As for politics, the skeletons in the closets fun to look at, but otherwise its a boring tangle of corruption, deceit and finger waving about ideals of the elite and rich, none of which I can change so getting my blood pressure up trying is just a waste of time.

"but from across the Atlantic it looks an awful lot like the sort of bitchy ill-tempered nonsense that should be quite some distance beneath any individual member of the world's most powerful government."

It is exactly that, my friend... it is exactly what it looks like.

Just finished reading through the whole archive. This is an awesome web-comic, and still manages to stay fresh and funny even after all these years.

Usually don't do the posting thing, but I just wanted to say good job, is all. Hope your finger has healed up Ok Gar.

Sincerely,
Loyal NTK reader.
