One of the things I always really liked about Watchmen was Doctor Manhattan's perception of time. The way he was frozen in every moment at once. I always liked how that's pretty much how time *works* in comics. Weird thing to get an audience to associate themselves with a character over, but then Moore's a damned good writer and managed to pull it off.

The blue wang didn't bother me. It was just there, not doing anything particularly offensive. I hear he shoots death rays from it in the new prequel comics that are coming out now.

One of my class mates, a psychology student, found it interesting no one really remembered ever reading, seeing, or hearing about the watchmen during the 80's. It didn't seem right to me because I remember "Swamp thing" was bigger than TMNT, and the toxic avenger combined, during the early 90's. I figured proposal like "The Watchmen" being made into a feature film would be like Mark Millar proposing "kick-ass." I didn't really argue with him over it, because while I liked certain aspects of both the film and comic book neither project was as good as both together.

I enjoyed having the ability to mix and match what I liked from both the film and graphic novel without analyzing the intent of the author... that didn't stop me from repeating what assorted critics had said about the film.

I figure every movie made in Hollywood is based on the Klingon politics of worthiness, not that I haven't seen anything unique or original in recent years. One of my professors believed movies more or less a reflection of the current state of public fears.

And, on the subject of fears, one might want to avoid "Fear Itself:Avengers" graphic novel. The only enjoyable part of the comic was the one issue involving Squirrel Girl going off to college and seeing $#!7 blow up. That's about it, everything else is talking heads, which would be great if you could follow the story in a motion picture format or cared about the characters.

I approve of Viking Paige. She looks better as a Viking. Everyone looks better as a Viking. The world needs more Vikings. I get lonely being the only Viking in my area.
