OK, so this one continues on from strip #959, and makes makes absolutely no sense on its own.

We're also changing the Whitespace Neko subcomic to an incentive for voting for Neko the Kitty at Top Web Comics. He'll be added to the archive versions for each strip, but you've got to vote to see the new one.

Haha silly neko

Advencha Maisy and Keno are just so adorable together!!!! ^.^ Mother son bonding moment.

Encoyroaba, 04 Apr 2012 01:21 am

I totally support the use of Neko as a voting incentive.

hrmmm I dunno, the whole ploy with seeing the whitespace extra in exchange for votes seems kind of petty. I hate it that comics like Goblins do something similar in order to see various images. Then again, it is probably the best way to get the unmotivated masses to actually give enough of a shit to click a button =P

Hey! There's a monkey in that window! Hey monkey! Fetch me a sammich! XD
Bored and monkeys bring out the silly side of me. Other then that great comic as always, and can't wait to see another exciting episode of whatever show Neko makes up.

Keno is getting all the love hehe.
Plus I like how you made that danging bob on Maisy's head change into a heart.

NOOOOOOO! White space Neko was the only thing that I liked about the last unbearable storyline. WHY!? Top web comics is probably a corruptable scam anyway. In fact, suspect everyone in the top ten uses bots.

edit: also I like what you did with the shading it looks imaginary 3D

On the whitespace extra Good choice. It's a reminder to vote, it's unobtrusive, and it makes those readers who don't have the budget to donate regularly feel that they're offering some support. No different from the bonus incentive panels Gar used early in the strip.

NtKGar, 04 Apr 2012 08:32 am

People just weren't voting with the regular TWC button there. Typically reader involvement in that kind of thing is fairly low, so adding an incentive for voting will hopefully see NtK climb the rankings somewhat. All I'm really after here is the free advertising.

Whitespace Neko has been around long enough to have become well-liked, so people know the voting incentive is worthwhile. Anyone ethically opposed to voting can just wait for the next comic to go up and click back.

hax ftw could set up a vote spammer to vote from 10 different IPs daily... but thats hard work :/ i'll try to vote daily myself tho, tend to only visit when im showing off NtK to ppl, or a new strip comes out (RSS feed)

NtKGar, 04 Apr 2012 10:48 am

Kind of you to offer, but I'm sticking with WhiteHat for now :)

I Spy Monkey in the window… MONKEY IN THE WINDOW!

A voting incentive would proly be a good idea, I was only vaguely aware NtK was on TWC in the first place, mostly cuz I do think I found this comic on TWC originally, but that was over a month ago, regardless I hope this endeavor works out for you

RoboKitty, 05 Apr 2012 04:03 pm

Confusion... Why are there three NtKs in three different places that all take you to the same place on the TWC thing and which one are we voting for?

NtKGar, 05 Apr 2012 05:13 pm

Oh, I had a Top Web Comics account which I forgot the password to, and the reset password thingy wasn't working so I just created a new account. Twice, apparently. You're meant to vote for the one the vote link from this page leads to :)

We're in the top 100 now - currently sitting at #74 with 255 votes, so thanks to everyone who's been voting so far.

murrkitteh, 05 Apr 2012 09:52 pm

Vote it up! Come on guys, 261 votes? We can do better!

RoboKitty, 06 Apr 2012 03:12 pm
