The new Aardman movie, 'The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists' (known as The Pirates! Band of Misfits in the USA) is coming out this week. I like Wallace and Gromit, I like pirates, and I like science, so I'm looking forward to it.
It kind of bugs me that they changed the title for U.S. audiences (which I discovered when Googling the IMDB entry linked above). It's not quite the relentless dumbing-down of 'Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone' (seriously, it's explained within the book and screenplay what a philosopher's stone is. Why, Hollywood, why?) but 'Band of Misfits' evokes so much less than 'In an Adventure with Scientists'.
I know, I know, it's a kids' movie, test audiences yadda yadda, and it's not hugely important to the story or characters, but it's the internet goddammit and I have a petty grievance!
There's a little ongoing action there in strips where the second storey of Alice's building is shown. Started out as a one-shot gag, but then we kept showing the same windows.
Odd...
I'm surprised that everyone is taking all this so well. They got trapped in hell and their friend is a wizard who uses rainbows to get around
I'd be a little more freaked out, personally.
I did it.....*drops dead*
I finally got caught up!
Also before I fade into the horde of regular commentors may I ask if your still taking avatar requests?
@Shadow: I've been calling the regular commentors 'Nekolytes' :)
It was 'Nekophiles' for a while, but then I realised it's not that kind of comic.
As for avatar requests, that's fallen by the wayside for the time being I'm afraid. I've been struggling to keep up with the update schedule in between battling demons and my regular day job lately, plus the comic itself has gotten more detailed and labour-intensive. I had been hoping to switch down to a four-day week at work so I could focus more of my energy into cartooning, but financial concerns have made that unfeasible for the time being (and the demons have REALLY been acting up lately).
