thank you Gar, Keith, and Paige for making me laugh until It hurts

Reply NtKGar, October 7th, 2011, 10:55 am

And thank you, Licourtrix (and everyone else we get a laugh out of, especially those of you that tell us), for validating the effort :)

Edit: Actually I'm going to expand on that seeing as I'm in a reflective mood.

Neko the Kitty isolates me quite a lot. It takes up a lot of my time getting these things done. I'm in work five days a week, then each comic takes say, six hours...it's a lot. I've missed out on going out a LOT, because my first duty is to the comic. It eats into my time with my friends, my time with Paige, my time to myself...

And I keep doing it because I fell in love with it a long time ago, and don't ever want to stop again. Sometimes, though, I think about it and wonder: is this any good?

Because I honestly don't know. *I* think it's good. I think the characters have a lot of heart, I think the art's expressive (and increasingly technically proficient), and I think it's funny. But of course I'm just the artist, and my opinion doesn't matter. (That may apply to you too now Paige, but thanks, I was proud of that xx)

Anyway, It really *does* Make My Day when someone tells me they were reduced to hysterics by my work. It makes me feel like it's all worthwhile. That yes, it's GOOD, and if I make sure it *stays* good, then some day enough people will find out about it for me to be able to walk away from my mind-crushing day-job and do it full-time. That way, I'd get to do Neko AND have a life!

That's the dream, anyway.

It's the people who are already here, the people this has already reached, that keep that dream alive. That make it all seem worthwhile in the sensible and down-to-earth scheme of things. It's a small dream, but sometimes it seems SO far away. It's always encouraging when I see comments under the strip. It's great to see the same couple of names cropping up over and over again (RaeOfSunshine, you are so aptly named :P), and when a new name starts popping up I always hope that they'll become a regular. I love it when that "(Guest)" thing vanishes.

To the people who've told me their days have been brightened, their guts busted, and that they got into trouble for laughing during class/work.

To the people who have liked this comic enough to tell me that they like it, sincerely, Thank You. This is my dream and you help me keep faith in it.

Thank You.

From the first strip to this one I've never found anything I didn't like (especially McJefferstein and that dinosaur skeleton) I can gladly say today's strip has cheered me up from a lot of family troubles and drama!
