yes, yes, watergate was facinating... Here's a thought provoking question. If the deceleration of independence was sent to the king, and the king destroyed it in a fit of rage, how then can we be certain that the contents of the declaration of independence were not changed or altered in some way before it was presented to the king? For all we know the original document could have said something along the lines of "Give us back our judicial system and our liberty or we'll blow your flipping heads off!" Wanting and asking for something is not the same as demanding it.

EDIT: I think "Sucker Punch" was trying to be "Blood: The Last Vampire" crossed with "Naked Lunch" and every conceivable male fetish. In much the same way it is possible "My Little pony: Freindship Is Magic" was retooled from "Azumanga Diaoh" while capitalizing on the "Twilight" fantasy craze.

Glad I didn't see Sucker Punch, but one of my friends (A Psychology Major who recently graduated) told me all about it. I'd recommend "Drive Angry." it's like a good version of "Ghost Rider," and that is all I'm willing to divulge at this point.

Keith didn't hesitate for a second when I asked what should go in that window. Normally you'd have to think about something like that, especially before arriving at 'Batman and Robin BDSM', but no, that's just how his mind works. I didn't even tell him about the window before showing him the panel. That's why he's the co-writer.

Just to be clear on this, that's pretty out-of-character for Batman (albeit less so for Robin and the Joker), so those are consenting adults engaging in some harmless adult roleplay. The safety word is 'Alfred'.

On a tangent, here's the summary for 'Drive Angry' from Wikipedia: John Milton (Nicolas Cage) is an undead felon who has broken out of Hell to avenge his murdered daughter and rescue his baby granddaughter. He must kill Jonah King (Billy Burke), a cult leader who tricked Milton's daughter into joining his followers in the wake of Milton's death, only to kill her and her husband and steal their baby daughter to be sacrificed at the full moon in a Satanist ritual to bring hell to earth.

Sounds like the kind of shitty action movie Nicholas Cage loves to star in and we all love to watch. You can just tell when that guy's having fun in front of the camera, and it seems to be the main criteria by which he chooses projects these days.

Nicholas Cage makes good shitty movies (yes, there are of course bad films in the 'shitty movies' genre), so this might be one for netflix.

Rremly and Aya on the third floor was also a nice touch.

(RIP Catharsis)

@Darkbunny: Yeah, it's a shame JB stopped cartooning, she just got more into sculpting and didn't like the pressures of an update schedule. Haven't really spoken to her in a couple of years. I don't have her contact information since the Catharsis site went down.

I read somewhere that Aya was the first character from one comic to be adopted fully into another, and she found a really good home in Catharsis. The rest of the kittens were supporting characters or bit-parts in their adoptive comics, but Aya was principal cast. I'd like to get a zip of the Catharsis archive to make available for download here. JB, if you're reading, get in touch :)

Something Positive and Girls With Slingshots recently did a similar adopt-the-kittens thing. I don't think they're aware of NtK and didn't troll them about it, but it's nice to see a good idea coming around again.

Hah! the cactus gets it's own little window.

Well, it's more like the little window gets its own cactus, but that cactus has a real sense of entitlement about it.

Fuck you, cactus!

@Gar: I don't have her contact info, but I'm still in touch with a few people who might. I'll see if I can pass a message on.

@Keith: Actually, it's pretty fitting that Independence Day came out on the second of July, because that date is based on the date the Declaration of Independence was signed, which (contrary to popular belief), was on July 2nd. The politions that the signers were backdated everything to make it look like it was the fourth because that's when the article came out in the paper about it. Everyone thought it was on the fourth, so they made it so.
