Continuing with co-writer Keith Boland in this one, and he's got a real flair for Sidekick Man's dialogue. Keith's going to be co-writing with me for the foreseeable future

Looking over some of the previous comics, and some of the layouts I've done with Keith, I've realised a lot of the pages can actually be split into two strips. There's usually a couple of gags per page, and in a lot of instances there's a strong punchline at the end of the first row.

I've been toying with the idea of switching up the schedule a little bit and exploiting this divisibility to go to a Monday-Wednesday-Friday thing: two half-page strips and one full-page a week. It'd be the same amount of comics, just distributed a little differently. I don't have time to do three full pages a week, butsplitting the content across more update days might drive up readership.

If there's strong support for keeping two full-page comics a week then I'll leave everything as it is, it's the same amount of panels and the same amount of work for me either way.

panel 3 = huh?

Reply McJefferstein, October 15th, 2010, 2:25 am

Hubris is showing the location of the Hubris-Hovel which is located to his right there, and not to mention listed in the phone-book as well.

I'm going to veto 'Hubris-Hovel'. Until I can think of something better, it's the Unnamed Base of Operations.

Hey if you want worse I could go worse. I like worse.

Where's Bummy?
Is he somewhere in those faded windows in panel 1 or 5?

Noy

Reply NtKGar, October 16th, 2010, 6:48 am

The whole point is you have to find him. He IS in this one, but he's quite subtle.

Reply Evilguy (Guest), October 18th, 2010, 5:38 am

I guess: panel 1 window on the left under the line leading to the speech bubble

Ahhh...Flamingo so we meet at last....

And Evilguy you forgot that Bummy is also in my hate-organ, the appendix. Yes that's right, the appendix isn't just for digesting grass anymore.

Using "Holy 1970's testicles" to describe Captain Cerebral Clot's current dilemma just didn't have the same flair old chum.

Reply Genshai_, October 19th, 2010, 2:12 am

I questioned panel 3 because sidekick man calls Hubris his sidekick :o

or am I just mis reading?

Reply NtKGar, October 19th, 2010, 3:13 am

It was established in his origin strip that Sidekick Man is a superhero in his own right.

Reply Enochia, January 9th, 2011, 2:41 pm

Wow, either the above conversation is a prime example of an esoteric chaos theory at work, or I'm having a stroke. . .

Reply NtKGar, January 10th, 2011, 2:18 am

It could be both.

Reply Tama (Guest), March 27th, 2012, 10:34 pm

Too bad i thought it would be funny if sidekick man had got wood while the grenade was in his pants and pulled out the pin

Reply NtKGar, March 28th, 2012, 7:30 am

There's a fanfic where that happens.

Reply DrakeFeatherwing, June 14th, 2012, 1:12 pm

Really? I'm getting both wow and lol feelings right now... ~.~
